Is the NBI open today? Office hours
The NBI's Citizen's Charter and contact page give the schedule for clearance applications as Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Offices follow government holidays. Mall-based clearance centers may keep different hours, so check your booking confirmation, or call the NBI clearance hotline at (02) 8524-1277 or 0939 150 2880.
Can I walk in?
The NBI's Citizen's Charter describes a walk-in process, but the NBI's own office locator asks applicants to apply and pay online through the official portal before going to a clearance office. To avoid being turned away or waiting all day, book online first at clearance.nbi.gov.ph.
Choosing a branch
- Clearance centers are often in malls (Robinsons, SM, Ayala, CityMall) or city halls, and are easy to reach by public transport.
- District and regional offices are full NBI offices that also process clearances.
- Pick the office you can reach most easily on your appointment day, and check for other slots if your nearest one is full.
What to wear
The NBI doesn't publish a dress code on its clearance pages, but your photo is printed on the clearance. Many applicants report being told to change out of sleeveless tops, shorts or slippers, so dress neatly, with a collared or sleeved top and closed shoes, to be safe.

Where is the NBI main clearance center?
The NBI Clearance Center is at the NBI Clearance Building, United Nations Avenue, Ermita, Manila. It's the first listing under Metro Manila above.
Is the NBI open on Saturdays?
The NBI's published schedule for clearance applications is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some mall-based centers may differ, so confirm by calling (02) 8524-1277 before going on a weekend.
Can I get my clearance at a different branch than the one I booked?
Go to the branch you chose when you booked. If you need to change it, check the options in your account on clearance.nbi.gov.ph first.
