How long is it valid?
An NBI clearance is generally accepted for one year from its date of issue. That's longer than the National Police Clearance, which is commonly accepted for six months.
The receiving office has the final say. Some employers, and many embassies and immigration offices, want a clearance issued within the last three to six months. Ask them before you apply so you don't have to get another one.
The office asking for your clearance decides what it accepts. Many want one issued within the last 3–6 months.

Renewing

Can I use an expired NBI clearance?
Most offices won't accept an expired clearance. Renew it: expiry doesn't stop you using Quick Renewal if you qualify.
Is an NBI clearance a valid ID?
It's a clearance certificate, not an ID card. Some offices accept it as a supporting document, but don't rely on it as a primary ID.
