Accepted valid IDs
The NBI asks for two original, non-expired valid IDs. Examples listed by nbi.gov.ph and commonly accepted:
- Philippine passport
- Driver's license
- PhilSys National ID
- UMID
- Postal ID
- PSA birth certificate (as a supporting document)
Other government IDs such as the PRC ID, SSS ID, GSIS ID or voter's ID are commonly accepted too. See the full list of valid IDs in the Philippines. Choose the ID type you'll bring when you apply online, and bring that exact ID.
Bring one more ID than you need. If an ID is rejected at the counter (for example it's expired or damaged), a spare saves you from rebooking.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a 2x2 photo?
No. Your photo is taken at the branch during biometrics.
Can I use a photocopy of my ID?
Bring originals. The NBI asks for original, non-expired IDs.
Can someone apply for me?
The branch captures your own photo, fingerprints and signature, so you need to be there in person for a new application.
