What's the difference between NBI and police clearance?
An NBI clearance is a nationwide check by the National Bureau of Investigation. A National Police Clearance checks PNP records. Many employers accept either, but some employers and most embassies ask specifically for NBI. See NBI vs Police Clearance.
Can I get my clearance fully online?
First-time applicants apply, book and pay online, then visit once for photo and fingerprints. Renewals can skip the visit in some cases: NBI Quick Renewal delivers to your home, and the police clearance can be renewed without appearance within three years of your last visit.
Is it free for first-time job seekers?
Yes. Under RA 11261 (First Time Jobseekers Assistance Act) both clearances are free once. You need a certification from your barangay. See the NBI and police guides.
