Pag-IBIG MP2 (Modified Pag-IBIG II) is a voluntary 5-year savings program for active Pag-IBIG members. You can save from ₱500 per remittance, the dividends are tax-free, and your savings are government-guaranteed. The MP2 rate was 7.12% for 2025 (7.10% for 2024). You choose at the start whether dividends are paid out every year or compounded and paid at maturity. Open an account online through Virtual Pag-IBIG. Past rates don't guarantee future ones: dividends depend on Pag-IBIG's income each year.

20257.12%
20247.10%
20237.05%
20227.03%

Under its Charter, Pag-IBIG returns at least 70% of its annual net income as dividends to members' savings, so the rate changes every year with the Fund's performance. Your savings are government-guaranteed, but the dividends are not fixed.

Key features

  • Minimum ₱500 per remittance. Save monthly, whenever you can, or as a one-time lump sum for the whole 5 years.
  • Higher dividends than Pag-IBIG Regular Savings, and the dividends are tax-free.
  • 5-year maturity. Choose annual payout or compounded dividends paid at maturity. The choice is fixed for that account; open another account if you want the other option.
  • Up to ₱20 million in principal at any time, and you may have more than one MP2 account.
  • Large amounts: a single remittance above ₱500,000 must be paid by personal or manager's check, and above ₱100,000 you submit proof of income or source of funds (checklist in the MP2 Enrollment Form).

Who can open an MP2 account

  • Active Pag-IBIG members, meaning at least one monthly contribution in the last six months. Not active? Pay a Regular Savings contribution first through Virtual Pag-IBIG.
  • Former members (retirees and pensioners) with other monthly income, regardless of age, with at least 24 monthly savings before retirement.
  • Natural-born Filipinos who reacquired citizenship under RA 9225, with at least 24 monthly savings before migrating.

Not a Pag-IBIG member yet? Register first through Virtual Pag-IBIG.

How to open an MP2 account online

You can also open an account at any Pag-IBIG branch with the MP2 Savings Enrollment Form (PFF226). Saving through salary deduction? Give your employer a copy of the filled-out enrollment form.

What rate applies in year 5? If your MP2 matures before that year's rate is declared, Pag-IBIG uses the previous year's (latest declared) rate, so you still earn for the full five years.

    Claiming your MP2 at maturity

After 5 years, claim online through Virtual Pag-IBIG (benefit claims), or over the counter with the Application for Provident Benefits (APB) form at any Pag-IBIG branch.

    • Not claimed? Matured MP2 savings stop earning MP2 dividends, but you can withdraw them any time.
    • Roll over: move all or part of your matured savings into a new 5-year MP2, or choose automatic rollover.

    Can you withdraw MP2 early?

Yes, but only for specific reasons:

    • Active members: total disability or insanity, termination due to health reasons, retirement, permanent migration, unemployment due to layoff or company closure, OFW repatriation, death (paid to beneficiaries), critical illness of the account holder or an immediate family member (subject to approval), or other grounds approved by the Board.
    • Retirees and pensioners: total disability or insanity, death, critical illness (subject to approval), or other approved grounds.

What you get back if you withdraw early: - Compounded payout: your principal + 50% of dividends from prior years + 50% of the current year's dividends (released after that year's rate is declared). - Annual payout: your principal, minus 50% of the dividends you already received, + 50% of the current year's dividends.

Only save through official channels. Pay with your own MP2 account number on Virtual Pag-IBIG or Pag-IBIG's accredited partners. Never give money to agents promising "guaranteed" MP2 returns.

    7.12%, according to Pag-IBIG Fund's MP2 page. It was 7.10% for 2024, 7.05% for 2023, 7.03% for 2022 and 6.00% for 2021.

How much is the minimum for MP2?

₱500 per remittance. You can save monthly, whenever you like, or pay a one-time lump sum for the whole 5-year term.

    Is MP2 safe?

Pag-IBIG says MP2 savings are government-guaranteed. The dividends are not fixed: they depend on Pag-IBIG Fund's financial performance each year.

    Are MP2 dividends taxable?

    No. Pag-IBIG says MP2 dividends are tax-free.

How do I open an MP2 account?

Online through Virtual Pag-IBIG: click Be A Member, then Apply for MP2, fill in your details, choose your amount, payout and payment mode, and submit. You'll get an MP2 account number. You can also apply at a branch with the MP2 Enrollment Form.

Can I withdraw my MP2 before 5 years?

Only for specific reasons such as total disability, health-related termination, retirement, permanent migration, layoff or company closure, OFW repatriation, death or critical illness. You get your principal but only 50% of the dividends.

Can I have more than one MP2 account?

Yes. You may open and keep multiple MP2 accounts, with up to ₱20 million in principal at any time.

What happens if I don't claim my MP2 after it matures?

It stops earning MP2 dividends, but you can still withdraw it anytime. You can also roll it over to a new 5-year MP2.

Should I choose annual or compounded dividends?

Compounded dividends earn dividends on top of dividends, so they usually grow more over 5 years; annual payout gives you cash every year. Your choice is fixed for that account. This is general information, not financial advice.
