Walk-in or online?

  • Walk-in is cheapest. Book a free slot, bring a valid ID and pay in cash at the outlet.
  • Online is delivered: next working day in Metro Manila after the PSA releases it, 3–8 working days in the provinces.
  • Getting it for someone else? At an outlet you may need an authorization letter. Online orders are only for yourself or close family.

When a PSA copy isn't the answer yet

  • No birth record at the PSA: register the birth late at the local civil registry office first. See late registration.
  • A mistake on the certificate: fix it by petition at the local civil registry office under RA 9048 or RA 10172. See birth certificate correction.
  • Recent marriage or death: the record can take 2–4 months (Metro Manila) or 6 months or more (provinces) to reach the PSA.
