Passport Requirements Checklist

Choose your situation to get the exact list of what the DFA asks for, with the fee and processing time. Tick things off as you go, or print it. Your ticks are saved on this device only.

Your passport checklist

Built from the DFA Office of Consular Affairs' requirement lists. Bring originals and photocopies. Runs on your phone; your ticks are saved on this device only.

How this checklist is made

Every item comes from the DFA Office of Consular Affairs' requirement lists, the same lists we use on our passport requirements and passport renewal guides.

  • Bring originals and photocopies of every document.
  • No photo or brown envelope. The DFA takes your photo and biometrics on the day.
  • Special cases (dual citizens, foundlings, adoptees, travel documents, reverting to a maiden name) need more documents. They're listed in full on the two guides.
  • Nothing is sent anywhere. The checklist runs in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a PSA birth certificate to renew my passport?

Not for a normal adult ePassport renewal: your current ePassport is the main document. You do need it for an old brown, green or maroon passport, a minor's renewal, or a damaged or lost passport with no photocopy.

Which IDs does the DFA not accept?

Pag-IBIG, TIN and PhilHealth IDs. The DFA treats them as secondary IDs. See the full list of accepted IDs.

Is there a penalty for an expired passport?

No. Renewing an expired passport costs the normal ₱950 or ₱1,200. Only a lost or mutilated ePassport adds a ₱350 penalty.

Who can accompany a minor?

A parent or an authorized adult. If the parents aren't married, only the mother may accompany the child unless she signs a notarized SPA.
