SSS Salary Loan Calculator 2026: How Much You Can Borrow, Interest and Requirements

Enter your average salary credit to see how much you can borrow from SSS, your monthly amortization, and the net amount you'll receive after the 1% service fee and pro-rated interest. It follows SSS Circular 2025-004, which cut the salary loan interest rate to 8% a year.

Rules from SSS Circular 2025-004: loan amount = average of your 12 latest posted MSCs under the Regular SS program (up to ₱20,000), rounded up to the next MSC, times 1 or 2; 24 equal monthly amortizations on the diminishing balance; 1% service fee and pro-rated interest deducted in advance. The Disclosure Statement in My.SSS shows your exact figures. Runs on your phone only; nothing is sent or saved.

Quick answer
₱40,000Most you can borrow (two-month loan)
8%Yearly interest on the diminishing balance
24Monthly amortizations
36Posted contributions for a one-month loan

An SSS salary loan is one or two months' worth of your salary credit: the average of your 12 latest posted monthly salary credits (MSCs), rounded up to the next MSC, for a one-month loan, or twice that for a two-month loan. Only MSCs of up to ₱20,000 count, so the most you can borrow is ₱20,000 (one-month) or ₱40,000 (two-month). You need 36 posted contributions for a one-month loan or 72 for a two-month loan, with 6 posted in the last 12 months. Interest is 8% a year on the diminishing balance, paid over 24 monthly amortizations. A ₱20,000 loan costs about ₱904.55 a month. SSS deducts a 1% service fee and pro-rated interest from the proceeds.

How much can you borrow from SSS?

  1. Average your 12 latest posted monthly salary credits

under the Regular SS program. Your MSC is the salary bracket your contribution is based on; you can see it month by month in My.SSS.

  2. Round up to the next MSC

MSCs go up in ₱500 steps, so an average of ₱12,250 becomes ₱12,500.

  3. Cap it at ₱20,000

The Regular SS program stops at an MSC of ₱20,000. Contributions on the part above that go to your MySSS Pension Booster and don't raise your loan.

  4. One-month loan

that amount. Two-month loan: twice that amount. 5. If you apply for less, you get the amount you applied for.

Example: your last 12 MSCs average ₱14,800. Rounded up, that's ₱15,000. A one-month loan is ₱15,000, and a two-month loan is ₱30,000. Someone earning ₱35,000 a month still borrows at most ₱20,000 or ₱40,000.

Monthly amortization table (2026)

SSS spreads the loan over 24 equal monthly amortizations, with interest on the diminishing principal balance. We computed these with the standard amortization formula; SSS's Disclosure Statement in My.SSS shows your exact figure:

Loan amountMonthly amortization (8%)Total interest over 24 months (8%)Service fee (1%)Monthly amortization (10%)
₱5,000.00₱226.14₱427.36₱50.00₱230.72
₱10,000.00₱452.27₱854.48₱100.00₱461.45
₱15,000.00₱678.41₱1,281.84₱150.00₱692.17
₱20,000.00₱904.55₱1,709.20₱200.00₱922.90
₱30,000.00₱1,356.82₱2,563.68₱300.00₱1,384.35
₱40,000.00₱1,809.09₱3,418.16₱400.00₱1,845.80

At 10% (the rate for members who used SSS penalty condonation in the past 5 years), a ₱20,000 loan comes to about ₱922.90 a month.

Interest, service fee and pro-rated interest

Three charges come out of a salary loan:

  • Interest: 8% a year on the diminishing balance for a first loan, or for a renewal if you haven't used penalty condonation in the past 5 years. It's 10% if you have. SSS cut the rate from 10% to 8% in 2025 under Circular 2025-004, and says it may adjust it again.
  • Service fee: 1% of the loan amount, deducted from what you receive.
  • Pro-rated interest: interest from the loan date to the end of the month before your first amortization month, also deducted in advance.

SSS's own example (Circular 2025-004): a ₱20,000 loan dated 15 April 2025 has its first amortization month in June 2025. Pro-rated interest runs from 16 April to 31 May, 46 days: ₱20,000 × 8% × 46 ÷ 365 = ₱201.64 (₱252.05 at 10%). With the ₱200 service fee, the member receives about ₱19,598.36.

The calculator does the same day count from the loan date you enter, so a loan early in the month carries more pro-rated interest than one near the end.

SSS salary loan requirements

You can apply if you are an employed member (including kasambahay), self-employed, a voluntary member (including a non-working spouse) or a land-based OFW, and:

  • One-month loan: at least 36 posted monthly contributions, 6 of them in the 12 months before the month you apply.
  • Two-month loan: at least 72 posted monthly contributions, with the same 6-in-12 rule.
  • Self-employed, voluntary and OFW members: at least 6 posted contributions under your current membership type.
  • Your employer (if employed) is up to date on contributions and loan remittances.
  • You are of legal age and under 65, have no past-due SSS loan, have not been granted a final benefit such as retirement, and have not been disqualified for fraud.
  • Your contact details are updated and you have a disbursement account enrolled in DAEM in My.SSS.

How to apply for an SSS salary loan online

SSS takes salary loan applications online only, through your My.SSS account on the SSS website or the MySSS app:

  1. Log in to My.SSS and make sure a disbursement account is enrolled under Disbursement Account Enrollment Module (DAEM).
  2. Open the salary loan application under the loans menu, choose a one-month or two-month loan, and check the loan amount and the Disclosure Statement (it shows the interest, charges and net proceeds).
  3. Submit. If you're employed, your employer certifies your application in its own My.SSS account.
  4. SSS releases the proceeds to your MySSS card or UMID ATM card, or to a PESONet bank account in your name enrolled in DAEM.

Repayment schedule

  • First amortization: the second month after the month your loan is approved. A loan approved in October 2026 starts in December 2026.
  • Deadline: each month's payment is due by the last day of the following month. December's amortization is due by 31 January.
  • Employed members pay through payroll deduction, and the employer remits to SSS. Self-employed, voluntary and OFW members pay with a Payment Reference Number (PRN) at an SSS branch or an accredited payment channel.
  • Late payments are charged a penalty of 1% a month, computed for every day of delay. Payments go to penalty first, then interest, then principal.
  • Default: if the unpaid amount exceeds 6 monthly amortizations, or any balance is left after 24 months, the whole balance becomes due. Unpaid loans after the term earn 10% a year plus 1% a month, and SSS deducts what's left from your future benefits, including retirement.

Renewing your salary loan

  • You can renew 6 months after your loan was approved, if the loan isn't past due and your last 3 amortizations were paid on time. SSS deducts the old balance from the new loan.
  • A fully paid loan can be renewed right away if the last 3 payments were on time; otherwise, 3 months after full payment.
  • Your net proceeds must be at least ₱2,000 after charges and the old balance (₱100 for kasambahay). Enter your current balance in the calculator to check.

SSS salary loan or Pag-IBIG Multi-Purpose Loan?

Both are short-term cash loans. The SSS salary loan is based on your salary credit (up to ₱40,000), while the Pag-IBIG MPL is based on your Pag-IBIG savings (up to 90% of them). Many members qualify for both. See our Pag-IBIG Multi-Purpose Loan guide.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting a loan based on your full salary. The loan uses your MSC, capped at ₱20,000 per month of loan.
  • Forgetting the deductions. You receive less than the loan amount: the 1% fee and pro-rated interest come off first, plus any old balance.
  • Missing the 6-in-12 rule. Thirty-six old contributions aren't enough if none were posted in the last year.
  • Applying with no DAEM account. SSS can't release the money without an enrolled disbursement account.
  • Paying late. The 1% monthly penalty adds up, and a later renewal needs your last 3 payments on time.

Frequently asked questions

How much can I borrow in an SSS salary loan?

One month's worth of your salary credit (the average of your 12 latest posted MSCs, rounded up to the next MSC) for a one-month loan, or twice that for a two-month loan. The maximum is ₱20,000 or ₱40,000.

What is the maximum SSS salary loan in 2026?

₱40,000 for a two-month loan and ₱20,000 for a one-month loan, because only MSCs of up to ₱20,000 under the Regular SS program count.

What is the interest rate of the SSS salary loan?

8% a year on the diminishing balance, or 10% if you used SSS penalty condonation in the past 5 years. SSS also deducts a 1% service fee and pro-rated interest from the proceeds.

How much is the monthly payment for a ₱20,000 SSS salary loan?

About ₱904.55 a month for 24 months at 8%, or about ₱922.90 at 10%. Your Disclosure Statement in My.SSS shows the exact amount.

How much will I actually receive?

The loan amount minus the 1% service fee, the pro-rated interest and any unpaid balance of your previous salary loan. On a ₱20,000 loan dated 15 April 2025, SSS's example deducts ₱201.64 in pro-rated interest; with the ₱200 fee, that leaves about ₱19,598.36.

When do I start paying?

Your first amortization month is the second month after your loan is approved, and each month's payment is due by the last day of the following month.

Can I renew my SSS salary loan?

Yes, 6 months after approval if your loan isn't past due and your last 3 amortizations were paid on time. A fully paid loan can be renewed immediately. Net proceeds must be at least ₱2,000.

Can I apply for an SSS salary loan without an employer?

Yes. Self-employed, voluntary members (including non-working spouses) and land-based OFWs can apply if they meet the contribution rules, including 6 posted contributions under their current membership type.
