DFA Passport Appointment: How to Book Online and Where to Apply

Every regular passport applicant needs an online appointment, and it's free. Here's how booking works, what happens after you pay, the rules on rescheduling and walk-ins, and the address of every DFA Consular Office.

PapelesPH is an independent guide, not a government office. Requirements and fees can differ by office, so confirm with the issuing office. We never ask for your personal details.

Book your DFA passport appointment at passport.gov.ph, the only legitimate booking site; appointments are free and can't be made on Facebook. Pick a Consular Office, date and time, then pay the fee (₱950 regular or ₱1,200 expedited) at an authorized payment center. You'll get a confirmation email with your application packet: print it and bring it with your requirements on your appointment day. Courtesy Lane applicants (seniors, PWDs, pregnant women, children 7 and under, solo parents, overseas Filipinos, emergencies) can walk in. Rescheduling is allowed only for exceptional or emergency reasons, within 6 months of the original date.

Book only at passport.gov.ph

The DFA is clear on this: appointments are free, they can only be made at passport.gov.ph, and appointments made anywhere else aren't legitimate. You can't book through the DFA's Facebook page or any social media.

Paying a fixer is illegal. The DFA says getting an appointment from fixers or "passport appointment assistance" services violates the law: people involved will be prosecuted and barred from applying for passports. If someone offers you an earlier slot for money, say no.

How to book (step by step)

From the DFA's ePayment instructions:

  1. Schedule your appointment

at passport.gov.ph: choose the Consular Office, date and time, and enter your details exactly as on your PSA birth certificate.

  2. Pay the passport fee

at any authorized payment center (₱950 regular, ₱1,200 expedited).

  3. Print your confirmation

After payment you receive an email with your appointment packet, which includes the application form. Print it.

  4. Appear in person

on your appointment date and time with the printed packet and your passport requirements (originals and photocopies).

Didn't get the confirmation email within 24 hours of paying? Call the appointment hotline at (02) 8234-3488. Also check your spam folder for the appointment code.

No slots? The DFA says empty calendars don't always mean slots are gone: refresh the page, because slots open from time to time.

Made a typo on the form? Minor typographical errors can be corrected during processing. Major errors in your details may lead to review or rejection, so check everything before you confirm.

On your appointment day

  • Arrive not earlier than 30 minutes before your slot.
  • Bring the printed application packet and your requirements, originals and photocopies.
  • No escorts, except for seniors, minors and PWDs who need help.
  • You don't need a passport photo or a brown envelope. Use a black or blue pen.

Rescheduling and missed appointments

You can only reschedule for exceptional or emergency reasons, and the new date must be within 6 months of the original appointment.

  • DFA Aseana: email passportconcerns@dfa.gov.ph with a copy of your application form (proof of your confirmed appointment), your passport requirements, and proof of the reason you couldn't appear. The request is reviewed.
  • Other Consular Offices: email the office directly, with the same proof. Office emails are on the DFA's Consular Office directory.

Walk-in: the Courtesy Lane

Only Courtesy Lane-eligible applicants can walk in without an appointment, at the Special Lane of DFA Aseana and other Consular Offices, Monday to Friday during office hours:

  • Senior citizens and PWDs (with one adult companion who qualifies)
  • Pregnant women
  • Children 7 and under, with a parent, guardian or authorized representative
  • Solo parents and their minor children
  • Overseas Filipinos with proof of status, and their immediate family
  • Emergencies: medical or death in the family abroad, plus approved educational trips and national representation
  • Hajj pilgrims during the Hajj registration period

Each needs specific proof; see the full list in our passport requirements guide. Seniors and PWDs may choose regular or expedited processing, but everyone else using the Courtesy Lane pays the ₱1,200 expedited fee.

Urgent travel but not eligible? The DFA may consider early accommodation for medical or legal emergencies, a death in the family, or returning OFWs. A booked flight doesn't guarantee it, and the DFA advises not buying tickets until you have your passport.
